Yes, our University has implemented guidelines which define the principles of using artificial intelligence (AI) tools, including generative AI (GenAI), in academic work. The University’s policy assumes that AI can be used to support the learning and development of students, but should not replace independent work or analysis.

The basic document that conveys the University’s policy in this area is this website, prepared in the form of FAQ. It contains current guidelines on how to use GenAI in a manner consistent with the principles of academic integrity and responsible learning. The content on the website is constantly updated to reflect any changes and new guidelines. If you have any questions, you can always return to this page for up-to-date information and answers to any questions that arise.

Also, all UITM academic teachers have received guidelines indicating actions that an academic teacher can take to limit cases of unethical use of GenAI tools by students. The document consists of three main parts, which focus on the following key areas:

Part 1. Suggestions for verifying learning outcomes for classes, i.e. lectures and practical classes,

Part 2. Suggestions for conducting classes in the form of projects,

Part 3. Suggestions for supervising diploma theses.

Additionally, Attachment 1 is dedicated to teachers of courses in graphic arts and focuses on the specific needs and challenges related to the use of GenAI in that area.
